Common Problems

I get the error: "Option Restricted to Single User"
This error appears when you are trying to complete a task that requires there to be only one user using Z-Bake at that time. One solution to this problem is to check your other Z-Bake stations to make sure that the program is quit. This error may also appear, however, when another instance of Z-Bake did not quit properly. While the application appears to be not running, all other instances of Z-Bake do not recognize improper shutdowns (such as crashes, process ends, etc.) as complete ends. To make Z-Bake "realize" that you are indeed the only user of Z-Bake, you can run the SYSFLAG program that comes along with Z-Bake. However, if you cannot find the program easily, the SYSFLAG program is available through Z-Bake itself: go to the System Manager module, and browse to the System»Clear Multi-user Flags option. You will be asked several Yes or No questions, it's best to read these over and see if they apply to you. When you reach the SYSFLAG for MultiNet dialog, most users choose "Select All" and continue. Make sure that this is right for you. The flags wlil be cleared and you can continue your operation.

I set the wrong unit of measure
For security reasons, the main unit of measure for all items (ingredients, unfinished goods, labor, etc.) cannot be changed in their regular edit screen. If, by mistake, you have entered in the incorrect unit of measure for this item, you must follow these directions: quit the item editing screen, go into the System Manager module, browse to Files»Change Main U/M and choose the type of item you would like to edit. Next, type or search for the item name. When the Item Maintenance Information dialog box appears, click Edit and make your change to the Base UM property. No other properties can be modified in this dialog box. When done, click the Save button, and continue your work.

How do I close the period/year?
Regularly closing the period allows for faster and safer program usage. When too much data piles up, Z-Bake will run slowly. Closing the period, which reindexes files at the end of a certain milestone (such as the end of the week or end of the month), helps archive older data, making room for new data and allowing Z-Bake to run faster. The "Close Period/Year" option is available in the Transactions menu of most modules (note: it is not available in System Manager). Choose the Close Period/Year option and enter the appropriate answers in the dialog box and continue. The period will be closed and application files will be reindexed.
